Hello,

I'm wondering how I could get a report on a work session showing when the code was not building, tests red, tests green over time. (see example below taken from Industrial Logic in Eclipse I think)

I would need this for the training / coaching I do with team that are learning TDD.
I want to show them how NCrunch can be used to improve their practice and reduce their feedback loops. I don't know any other tool that could do it for Visual Studio and it would provide precious information.
We could even make it a game/competition with clear number objectives!

Example (mainly the green/red columns):
Graph

Thanks for any help you can provide for this!

Hi,

Thanks for posting. We don't have that report.

We do have the TimeLine report. This will show the history of the engine for the last 10 minutes.
TimeLine release in VS
Initial Timelline release in the CLI

This report can be created by clicking on the export button on the Tests Window.

If this isn't sufficient we also export all the events generated during that 10 minute session. This is exported next to the html file. It's called TimeLineEvents.xml. Maybe that could help you?

Thanks for your quick answer!

The 10min limit is quite annoying though... I didn't want to click on that button every 10 minutes. :-p (would have been nice if the file(s) were created automatically maybe)

Do you know if it's possible to create an extension and capture events from NCrunch? If yes, would you have the names of the events?

I can imagine that the 10 minute window is annoying for this use case. The 10 minutes are set to reduce memory consumption.

We don't currently expose an API.

If you want you can drop feature suggestions here: https://ncrunch.uservoice.com/ This gives us the opportunity to see if people are interested in a particular feature.

Yeah the 10 minutes make sense for performance... But then maybe saving it automatically every 10 minutes might be a solution. Too bad there's no api to trigger that as well. :-)

I have the feeling it's difficult to get upvotes on uservoice without a lot of efforts... :)
I'll try anyway...

Thanks for your answers anyway!

Have a nice evening!
