Can somebody tell how to setup NCrunch so that it does not build or run unit tests while editing javascript (.js), .html or .cshtml files?

Hi Douglas,

Thanks for posting! NCrunch will automatically run a build as soon as any change is made to a file that is part of the solution. This is intentional behaviour as NCrunch needs to keep its workspaces updated and it can only be prevented by disabling NCrunch. As for your tests, it sounds to me like you are only interested in running tests that may have been impacted by the changes you've made. If this is the case, I recommend trying the 'Run impacted tests only' Engine mode (selected from the 'Engine Modes' submenu in the NCrunch top menu).

Cheers,

Remco

Thanks Remco,

I think having the ability to ignore certain file types would be a great new feature. I spend quite a bit of time editing html, .js, .cshtml and .aspx files and having NCrunch build the solution everytime I make a change is a bit bothersome.

NCrunch is a great product, keep up the good work!

Regards,
-Douglas H.

+1 for this feature. I also edit many non-compiled files (mainly js= causing build engine to make my visual studio to be "laggy". A feature to not trigger build upon changes to specific file types would be desirable.

I think option to list file types which don't trigger automatic build would be useful.

+1

For anyone interested in this feature, there is now a configuration option available that can be used for this - Files Excluded From Auto Build.
