Hi,

It just occurred to me (while browsing the metrics window), that it would be really good if the metrics were integrated into the Solution Explorer tree. I think this would make developers much better aware of their solution's test coverage. An added benefit would be that metric averages could be calculated and displayed at the solution folder level to give a feel for which areas might need more testing.

Needless to say, great product and keep up the good work!

Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil,

Thanks for posting and I'm glad you're enjoying NCrunch!

It would definitely be a nice thing to be able to integrate these views, as the solution explorer definitely carries the same structural layout as the Metrics View and it's always better to need less tool windows to juggle around.

Unfortunately, the massive expense of VS integration makes such an approach infeasible. The Visual Studio layouts currently change every other year, and the time involved in introducing and maintaining such an integration point would weigh heavily against the development time of other new features planned for the Metrics View. In future, the Metrics view is expected to become much more powerful with many new features added. By keeping it separate, there is much more opportunity for long term improvement.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

Cheers,

Remco
