new tests in file not being picked up by NCrunch

Started by davidtouchette-gateway on 2,558 views

I have submitted a bug report through the NCrunch 3.23.0.10 menu in VS 2017 community.

The gist of which is that I have existing tests which are recognized, automatically run when affected, and display the green circle indicator in the gutter.

Adding a new test into an existing test.cs file does not show that test in the NCrunch tests window, nor does it auto-run or show a visual indicator in the gutter.

I am also noticing that new lines of code in my library projects are not showing the white circle indicating no test coverage for said line.

I've tried restarting, cleaning bin+obj, cleaning %temp%

I cannot view the workspace in use for specific test, nothing happens.
Hi, thanks for sharing this issue.

I've had a look through the report your submitted and didn't see anything going obviously wrong inside the engine (no errors, looks like normal function).

I think the first thing we should do is clear ALL of your NCrunch configuration to see if this makes any difference.

With the IDE closed:

In your solution directory, run a search for .ncrunchproject files, delete them all. Delete them all.
Delete all the .ncrunchsolution files adjacent to the solution file.
Delete the _NCrunch_* cache directory.
Delete the contents of C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Roaming\NCrunch

Then let me know if this makes any difference for you.
Thanks for your hints; doing those things didn't do it for me but it did reveal some failed builds in the tests window which pointed me to some bad reference issues and after doing a update-package -reinstall the build succeeded and everything is back to normal, thanks!
