Hi, I've been using NCrunch on Visual Studio 2022. Today I installed Visual Studio 2022 Preview. NCrunch doesn't show up as an extension there, even after I export settings from 2022 and import into 2022 Preview.

I tried running the NCrunch installer again, but the only options I get are Repair and Remove. Repair had no effect.

Do I have to Remove and reinstall NCrunch to get it to show up in both VS 2022 and VS 2022 Preview?

Hi, thanks for sharing this issue.

I recommend trying to install NCrunch manually. Most likely it's having trouble determining the install path of the preview tooling.

That worked!

Initially I got load errors which were ultimately due to the file blocking referred to repeatedly in the page you linked.

Then I had some hassles getting the files unblocked.

But once that was done, it loaded up fine.

Thanks, Remco!

Have been using VS2022 Preview without issue for a while.
Updated this morning to 17.10.0 P4 which comes with a new Extensions management system.
The little "N" in the bottom corner is not showing any more, nor is the window available from the Test menu.

I went through the manual instructions (including the unblocking) and even ran the "UnblockAllFiles.ps1" as Admin in the folder. Still nothing.

Not sure if there's some logs somewhere I can share? Seems like the extension is not being loaded.

Hi, thanks for sharing this issue.

We've just tested this on the new preview build and it seems to be working on our end. I think this is an install state issue. Could you try the removal and reinstall fix described here? I realise you've probably done many of these steps already with your manual installation, but we need to make sure they are done in a very specific order to reset VS's caches and install state.

The instructions above expect you to use the MSI, but if that doesn't work, I'm hoping that doing the full manual install after the described steps will sort it out.
