Setup Problems

Can't uninstall NCrunch if you've already uninstalled Visual Studio 2010

Not a big issue, really...

I've been having issues with VS2012, so I decided to uninstall it and the reinstall.

Once I had uninstalled VS2012, I found that I could not uninstall NCrunch.

The message says "Visual Studio 2012 was not detected on this system. If this is incorrect, you will need to install this product manually using a zip file from the NCrunch website."
Hi John -

This is currently a known issue, http://forum.ncrunch.net/yaf_postst794_NCrunch-cannot-be-uninstalled-when-VS-2012-is-already-uninstalled-too.aspx

.. And a bit of a pain in the neck. I'm hoping to have it fixed soon.

It should be possible to trick the NCrunch installer into thinking that VS is still installed by copying a dummy .exe file of some kind to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe

.. then adding the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\11.0\InstallDir = C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE
For anyone interested, a fix for this problem has been introduced with the newly released version of NCrunch (v1.45).
