A (hopefully) new take on offering JS testing support

Started by Kenneth Welling on 6,633 views

I see that others have suggested including javascript testing support, and I don't want to beat a dead horse.

However, I was hoping that the inclusion of the new test adapter capability in VC2012 might offer an alternative approach to JS testing integration which would not require a significant rewrite.

Here is more information on how Chutzpah has leveraged the test adapter changes: http://matthewmanela.com/blog/anatomy-of-the-chutzpah-test-adapter-for-vs-2012-rc/

Even if code coverage was not included, being able to include JS QUnit and Jasmine test results with the NCrunch engine runs would be a huge improvement for us.

This may be obvious, but running JS tests is becoming very important to your client base since Win 8 so heavily pushes JS development.

Hope this helps.
Hi, thanks for sharing this!

JS is definitely becoming more and more important ... although of course, this is a huge piece of work and it does contain problems that don't yet have a certain solution. Hopefully this will be an area explored in future.
