Hi Remco,

I'm working with a 24'' Screen with a Resolution of 1920x1080 with standard DPI settings of Win7 x64.
I'm used to work with visual studio 2013 in maximized window mode (not fullscreen), therefore I see a lot of my code editor, especially the vertical space.

I don't understand why the stacktrace-windows are THAT short that i can't even read three entries without to scroll.
Beside that, the gray area beyond seems very useless in example A and B, even I select one of the nodes.

Does the window have to have so short? I think it could consume a lot more vertical space since I'm interested in the information when I click it.

Same is true for Example C, the list of tests covering a particular line.

Here are the examples:

A:
Example A

B:
Example B

C:
Example C

Sorry for the obfuscation but I'm not allowed to share any details about the code :)

Thanks, Bernhard
Remco

Hi,

It looks like this is being caused by an issue with the height calculation. The issue affects all stack trace popup windows with less than 12 items in them, and basically results in the window always showing about 10 pixels smaller than it is supposed to.

This should be simple to fix. I would offer you another test build with the fix included, but 2.6 is very close to dropping now, so I'm wondering if perhaps you would be OK with having this solved in the full release build coming out later this week?

Thanks for your fast reply.
I can offer you to test the build before it's released to be sure it's fixed.
Otherwise I will just wait for the next awesomeness-release :)

/edit:
btw, example C does have only 6 elements, not 12. Does that mean that the limit will be raised up to 12? I'm used your test build while making the screenshots.

The test list will always cap out at 6 items before the scrollbar will appear. This is by design, as mammoth popups aren't always a welcome sight. The fix will be for the exception popup only, which will be sized correctly without scrollbar for less than 12 items. The exception popup needs more space than the test list, as its hierarchical structure is difficult to read otherwise.

To be honest I would like to see more rather have to scroll to get the context of the information.
A limit to 12 or 15 items is not a mammoth popup, imho.

I'll wait until the final release.
