NCrunch Tests Window - Run All Tests Disabled

Started by bobmillar on 5,901 views

Using NCrunch Ver 2015_2.20.0.4 with the same project on two computers -- Windows 10 Build 14316.rs1 and Windows 2016 TP4. On The Windows 10 workstation several menu items on the NCrunch Tests Window are disabled -- Specifically "Run Selected Tests in New Process" and "Ignored Tests". See image below for a screen shot.

On the Windows 2016 Server, the menu items are enabled and all the tests being monitored are displayed. How do I enable these menu items on the Windows 10 workstation?

Thanks

Hi Bob,

Sorry - for some reason, the image you've linked to doesn't seem to open for me (access denied perhaps)?

Are you able to access these options via context menu? Can you submit a bug report? I wonder if something is going wrong under the hood.
Please Find The Image At: (- BROKEN LINK -)

I have not filed a bug report. I have recently switched to using NCrunch and assume there is a simple configuration item I have missed between the two machines.

Hi Bob,

These two toolbar options are dependent on the selected item in the Tests Window.

In this situation, you have no tests selected, so the toolbar options are disabled.

Try turning on the green checkmark so that your passing tests are visible, then try selecting a test. The buttons should then activate.
Thanks for the quick response - it gave me the hint necessary to find the issue.

The issue was I had accidentally turned off the "Show Passing Tests" menu item of the "NCrunch Tests" window. The change in the background color when this menu item is changed is so subtle, I had not noticed the item had been changed. I had not expected the "Show Passing Tests" would impact the other menu items.
