Setup Problems

Is VS 11 Beta supported?

Hi Remco,

I'm a big fan for this great product and enjoyed getting some context on its development via your Herding Code podcast.

Do you know if the Visual Studio 11 Developer Preview bits installer works for Visual Studio 11 Beta? I know it's probably a bit soon, but thought I'd ask the question as I've got the beta up and running and I'm missing my two favorite tools: NCrunch and ReSharper.

Cheers,
Stuart

Hi, thanks for posting and I'm glad you're enjoying NCrunch!

As the beta is only just released, I haven't yet had time to assess it to find gaps in the support. My expectation would be that NCrunch likely wouldn't work - though I can't yet tell you to what extent :)

If you already have the Dev 11 beta installed, my suggestion would be to download and try the VS 11 preview installer for NCrunch and give it a spin. I'm keen to hear if it works for you!

Cheers,

Remco

An update on this one: I've given the beta a spin and confirmed that it doesn't find the NCrunch package on initialisation. I'm working on a build right now to properly extend support to the Dev 11 beta, hopefully I'll have it ready soon :)
I had NCrunch installed for the VS11 Dev Preview, and I find that it still works in the Beta.

However, when I converter all the projects in my solution to .NET 4.5, and reloaded it, "Enable NCrunch" is disabled in the NCrunch menu.

I think the issue runs deeper though, because the Resharper test runner wouldn't run my tests either.

All this is with VS11 Beta on Windows 7, by the way.
Hi John -

I'm wondering if you might be able to give me a bit more detail about the issue described above (Enable NCrunch is disabled). Is this a problem you're able to reproduce consistently? Have you been able to work around it?

Thanks!

Remco
For anyone interested, 1.38b has just been released including support for VS11 Beta.
