This sounds like an integration test, so it's probably making a few assumptions about the environment it's executing in. NCrunch runs tests in a way that is structurally very similar to other test runners, but there are some notable differences in the execution environment. Have a read of
this guide for more information.
If you're able to share a simple reproduction of the issue (i.e. in a small project or so), I may be able to help.
