Minor bug report, but it drives my OCD wild! :)

The width of the left panel (containing OK, N/A, % or # of failing tests), doesn't seem to remember the size I left it at.

Otherwise, love the product, keep up the good work!

We store these settings as a user setting for the current solution. When I reopen the same solution the splitter settings are remembered. For a new / different solution you need to set it to the desired position again. This is true for a lot of NCrunch UI settings.

The settings is stored in "solutionname".v3.ncrunchsolution.user under <StatusIndicatorSplitterDistance>360</StatusIndicatorSplitterDistance>.

Does this not work for the same solution for you? If it doesn't would you mind removing the user settings file and trying this again?

Ah,
That makes sense now. It's often in a really odd position when I open VS, but then moves once I open a solution.
Maybe also the fact that I connect my laptop to different monitors in the office and at home was confusing me also.
Thanks,
Steve.

It looks like it might be related to different DPIs. The width seems to vary depending upon whether I'm on my retina laptop screen or plugged into a 1080p monitor.

Is it possible that the saved splitter distance simply looks different because the bar is of a different size under a different DPI? Do you have different DPI settings on a per-monitor basis?

I haven't manually set anything, but windows might do something automatically. I'll report back when I'm in the office tomorrow.

Thanks,

Steve.

I've come across this issue too over the last 5 years or so that I've used this product. And 5 years ago, I did not have a high-DPI monitor. Although, I'm sure having a high-DPI monitor doesn't simplify things. ;) Anyhow, I do now have a high-dpi monitor now (4k), but even so, it's enough to close and re-open Visual Studio even on the same monitor and the risk/progress bar splitter does not always stay in the same location. Annoying? Yes. But does it impact my day-to-day use? Nah. Hopefully, though, this slight UX annoyance can be resolved in a future release!! :)

We'd like to fix this, but presently we don't know what's causing it. We can't seem to reproduce it. If you have any ideas on what might be triggering it, we'd love to hear them.

Are any of your other NCrunch tool windows affected in the same way?

Given how long-standing of an issue this has been, I can really appreciate that this has been hard for you guys to track down! It isn't obvious to me that there's this "one thing" that I do that results in this behavior, so I'm not surprised it hasn't been found/fixed yet. :) I'm not sure if other tool windows are affected. Since I now have a 4k monitor, I started pinning the docked tests window to the side. And when I log in remotely to my laptop with a screen that's only FHD in size, the window is LARGE, but that's because it was previously sized on 4k. All that to say, that seems to be functioning correctly! As far as I've noticed, it the risk/progress bar that seems to float around.

I'll try to keep an eye on it, and if I see some pattern, I'll try to report back. But honestly, to date, I haven't noticed a pattern. Good luck with hunting this one down. Like I said, annoying? Yes. Deal breaker: by all means no. If it was easy to fix, it'd be fixed. So I appreciate you guys keeping a lookout for this. And thanks for a great product!
