NCrunch & Visual Studio 16.5.0 - tooltips flicker

Started by wilhelmmedetz on 2,155 views

When hovering over markers the popup window flickers and is unreadable.

When hovering over the lower right corner button the popup window flickers, until it take up the whole Visual Studio window. After closing it with Alt+F4 no hovering popup window is display, but the righ-click menu works normal.

Visual Studio 16.5.0
NCrunch 4.3.0.13

I have also submitted a bug report.

Thanks for sharing this issue.

I'm not sure at the moment how to reproduce this issue, so I guess it's question time.

Did this problem appear for you suddenly after something changed? Or has it been going on for a while?

Do you have the 'Optimize rendering for screen with different pixel densities' setting enabled under your VS General Environment settings? If so, does turning this off make any difference?

Are you running on a non-standard DPI?

Do you have any other plugins/packages instead that might interfere with the visual layout?

The problems is caused by the latest version of the Microsoft PowerToys https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys tool.
After moving Visual Studio with the PowerToys fancy zones feature the weird hover/popup flickering occurs.
After adjusting one border of Visual Studio manually, the flickering disappears.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Wilhelm. I noticed an exception in the bug report you submitted. There may be something we can do about this. I'll place this in the backlog to be examined in future.
