Thanks: 1 times
When Visual Studios 2022 Preview 5 became available I upgraded my installation and previously working C# projects started failing to load with a
"SDK Resolver Failure" (trace below).

I reported an issue through the NCrunch "Submit Bug Report" feature, but did not hear back. When Preview 6 became available, I upgraded hoping
that some change on the VS side would be reverted or a fix applied to resolve the issue. No such luck, all my projects still fail to load.

I've seen that there can be issues related to incorrectly selecting x86 architecture in the NCrunch Configuration. I've made sure to explicitly set both
"Build procees CPU architecture" in "Build Settings" and "Use CPU achitecture" in "Test Settings" to x64. No change.

All my projects build correctly and I'm still able to run my tests with Visual Studio's Test Explorer, though doing so after becoming used to NCrunch
is fairly painful. Any help would be appreciated.
Code:

Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2022 Preview
Version 17.0.0 Preview 6.0
VisualStudio.17.Preview/17.0.0-pre.6.0+31815.197
Microsoft .NET Framework
Version 4.8.04084

NCrunch version is 4.9.0.8

Trace output for every project in my solution:
Code:

System.Exception: An exception was thrown in the remote environment: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> Microsoft.Build.Exceptions.InvalidProjectFileException: SDK Resolver Failure: "The SDK resolver "NuGetSdkResolver" failed while attempting to resolve the SDK "Microsoft.NET.Sdk". My projects are all targeting net6.0 or net6.0-windows.
I have quite a host of SDKs and runtimes installed, perhaps that is a concern?

Hi, thanks for posting.

A fix for this problem was released with NCrunch v4.10, which was released within 48 hours of the VS2022 RC build. I recommend updating your NCrunch. If this doesn't solve the problem, please let me know.

Ah... of course. I should have checked the release page more frequently.
And it is even the second item in the release notes:
"Switched NCrunch to a different MSBuild API call when initialising MSBuild projects in preparation for load. The existing API we were using has been broken by the new VS2022 RC. This change will allow NCrunch to continue to work under the new VS2022 RC."

Nice work resolving the issue quickly. Thanks!
