I'm trying to install NCrunch_VS2019_4.13.01.

The Installer is reporting:

"The Install has insufficient privileges to modify this file:
C:\Program FIles 9x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2019\Professional\Common7\IDE\Extensions\Remoco SoftwareNCrunch for Visual Studio 2019\AWSSDK.DLL"

I was able to install NCrunch updates in the past w/o any privileges problems. I was working on a physical computer with Windows 7 and then Windows 11.

The organization I work with moved my system from the physical computer to a Virtual Machine (VM).

I see the Remco Software file, listed in the folder path in the error above, is read-only. I tried to turn off the read-only attribute.

However, I can't get the system to turn off the read-only attribute.

Also, when I right-click on the MSI installer file I don't see any Administrative install option.

I might need to contact our IT help desk but they may be reluctant to give me the appropriate permissions
to do the install.

So, if I can find another way to do the install, w/o involving the IT help desk that would be great.

Otherwise looks like I'm stuck and won't be able to upgrade to the latest version of NCrunch.

Hi Ed, thanks for sharing this.

It looks like your system has shut you out from software changes. Unfortunately, there isn't anything an MSI is able to do to work around security that is present on the machine. You'll need to check this past your help desk and/or management within the organisation.

IMHO When a developer can't maintain the software installed on their machine, this is probably a bigger problem than little NCrunch.

Yeah, I thought I'd have to go to my IT help desk or management to get this fixed.

But, I thought there might a slim chance I overlooked some minor privilege item
I could have tweaked, on my own, to make the install work. So, I thought
it was worthwhile to ask.

Thanks for the quick reply and help!

Ed
