I tried to install the new 1.41b version (both VS2010 and VS2012RC). Both installers detect a previously installed version of NCrunch and tell me to uninstall it first. I have done excatly this before trying to install the new version...

What are the installers looking for to detect a previous version?

Did you perhaps previously perform a manual install of an older version of NCrunch?

Try making sure the 'Remco Software' extension directories under VS2010 and VS2012 are completely removed before running the installer. This should remove any files that the new installer is checking for.

The extension directores are:

For VS2010 - \Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\Extensions\Remco Software
For VS2012 - \Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\Extensions\Remco Software

No, I never installed manually. Before, I had installed v1.40b installed with the installer and uninstalled via the normal Uninstall dialog. It looks like the 1.40b Uninstaller did not remove the folders you mentioned. After removing them manually, I could install the new versions.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for letting me know. I wonder if this may have been caused by an issue of some kind with the uninstaller... I guess we'll never know now, but I'm glad this solved the problem.
