Just figured I'd pose the question. Is there going to be support for the Dark Theme in VS for NCrunch windows. The NCrunch Tests window sticks out like a sore thumb when using the Dark theme.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark -

Thanks for posting! I've lately been looking at ways to implement this. I use the dark theme myself also, so I'd like to add support for this. Hopefully it'll be added soon.

Cheers,

Remco

Thanks for the update Remco.
I figured it didn't slip through the cracks but didn't see anything on the forum about it so figured I'd ask.

Glad to see someone from the inside is interested too.

By the way, so far I've found the best place is on the right of my toolbar for the small metric window. Some empty space there.

Hi,

v1.42 of NCrunch (released October last year), introduced a series of global configuration options that allow you to change the colour of the NCrunch tool windows within Visual Studio. The release also included a number of changes to the icons and UI elements to make them visible on dark background colours. While NCrunch doesn't yet have full alignment with the new VS colour schemes, these options should allow you to configure NCrunch closely enough to avoid eye-blistering contrast between the background colours in VS.

Full alignment with VS colours will require a complete rebuild of the NCrunch UI (yep, it's not simple!), which unfortunately can only happen as part of a major revision of the software.

Cheers,

Remco

Is there a development roadmap for NCrunch? It would be nice to have a sense of where features like this stand in the development priorities.

This feature is already implemented in the upcoming V2 build. It's the single most requested feature since the VS2012 release, and actually I wanted to implement it much earlier .. it was just too difficult to do while keeping the product stable.

Except for the compatibility upgrades listed at http://www.ncrunch.net/support/frameworks, I'm afraid that NCrunch doesn't have a public roadmap. My preference is generally not to make promises until I'm sure that I can keep them :)

That's great to hear! Do you have a rough estimate on when you hope to release V2?

Current target is still late this year. There'll be an open beta coming out earlier than that though :)
