Also, are the NCrunch file contents dependend upon, or associated with, the version of VS being used? I use both VS2010 and VS2012 for the same solution under TFS, so I am not sure what can be safely under source control and what cannot at this time.

Thanks.

Hi -

I think that this documentation page may help answer some questions in this area.

Provided you have the same version of NCrunch installed for both VS2010 and VS2012, they should share settings and cached information without problems.

Cheers,

I will explore some more, but one of the problems I have encountered is that the systems I use have different numbers of processors, to eh configuration of NCrunch vs VisualStudio is not portable. Have you considered something like ReSharper has, where there are 3 levels of setting -- System, Solution, and personal? That would be beneficial I think.

However, that is a lot of feature development, so it might not be a priority this year.

A more sophisticated settings manager is in the plan :) Though you are correct - it is quite a large piece of work. It's also hard to implement without making the settings more confusing for less specialised cases .. so for now, NCrunch just uses fixed settings between the different areas (system/solution/personal/project). I have a feeling we'll get to this, though there are some more exciting things that will happen first!
