Just installed NCrunch 1.48 with Visual Studio 2012 on Windows 8.1 with Resharper 7.1
I try to enable NCruch in my current project and it never finishes initializing.
There is no error or exception. Just a continual spinner that is not doing anything.
Please help. Thank you.

Hi,
Thanks for sharing this issue. This is not behaviour by design. Is there any chance you could submit a bug report after you've had this happen to you? Hopefully the log file will contain information I can use to help you get this working.
Cheers,
Remco

Thanks for submitting the bug report. Can you confirm for me how long the engine was hung before you clicked the 'Submit bug report' option? If it was a while (i.e. 20 seconds or longer), then I suspect that something may be going wrong in NCrunch's attempts to resolve test frameworks that are installed. This would suggest that the problem is caused by a corrupt installation of NCrunch.
Does removing the product entirely and reinstalling solve the problem? Please do also let me know if you've installed the product in any way other than running the MSI.
Cheers,
Remco

Something else to try if a reinstall doesn't do the trick - Try setting the Use hosted task runner global configuration setting to 'False'. This will help deduct whether it's something in the hosted task environment causing the problem.

When I sent the log I let it run 30 seconds. However I had just restarted Visual Studio after a 2 hour wait period. I have been unable to get NCrunch to start.
I will try the global configuration change tonight.

Changing the global configuration made it work. What do I loose with that configuration being false?

Great to hear. You lose nothing at all. This configuration setting controls whether NCrunch uses a hosted task environment for the task .exe ... at the moment the hosted task environment doesn't give it anything special - it was intended for future features ... but there is a movement away from this now as there seems to be some problems that appear in the hosted environment that wouldn't appear otherwise. Hosted task runners are likely to be removed soon (which means the setting will effectively be FALSE regardless).
