There's a public preview of VS 2019 available now, and I was wondering if there was a release in the works to support it?

Hi,

To avoid drowning in VS releases, we have a policy of introducing support for a new version only in the late stages of RC.

I'm only posting this here to save anyone else attempting the same. I attempted to manually install NCrunch into VS2019 (following the instructions). It installs without errors but doesn't really function. It also complains about the extension synchronously loading, so there's definitely going to be changes needed for it to work in future preview builds. Good luck team! :)

Thanks Matthew :) We saw this one coming a few months back and have been preparing accordingly. It's had quite a few knock-on changes through our VS integration, but so far it doesn't look like we're going to have any long term issues here.

I'm sure you'll be hearing this too, but I'm hearing rumours that Preview 3 will be the last big release before the final version coming in April. Could potentially be the case as there's 6 weeks to go and they've been releasing previews every 4-8 weeks so far

My team are being very patient because I've told them we're not going to try it out until NCrunch is available for it! :)

An update here..

We've actually been quietly working on this since December. MS have made significant internal changes in VS2019 and we wanted to be ready for this release, so we've been working with them in lockstep (admittedly somewhat painfully).

I'm aware that they've announced a launch date on April 2nd. I wasn't aware that P3 was expected to be the last version before the release ... is there any chance you can share your source on this?

Sure, it's nothing secretive or protected, but I've been seeing the word "final" in various news publications so it's possible someone has let it slip accidentally... Or maybe they're just making assumptions. No idea really!

It would be awesome to have some beta-bits to test with VS 2019 Preview 3.
I want to test VS2019 in our departments before the rollout, but Visual Studio without NCrunch is not the same.

I'm quite relieved :)

P3 definitely did not feel very final to us. I hope they have everything ready in time..

Going to put this here rather than a new thread.

Not sure if it's just me or if it's a really obvious thing that you've also noticed Remco, but the NCrunch window no longer seems to have a background colour (it's transparent) making it very hard to read.
Also the status bar ("No tests are queued") background colour is really hard to read.

VS2019:

I'm just using the default VS2019 theme as far as I'm aware, didn't make any changes there.

This is on 2019 Preview 4.2

Hi,

We've released a dev build that should fix the blue theme issues. Would you mind giving that a try?

NCrunch_VS2019_3.25.0.1.msi
NCrunch_VS2019_3.25.0.1.msi.7z
NCrunch_VS2019_3.25.0.1.zip

Release notes for 3.25.0.1 since version v3.24.0.5

Added support for the new Visual Studio 2019 Blue theme

Fixed a problem with building projects under Visual Studio 2019 when the build task referenced certain assemblies

We're seeing an issue too, using the Dark Theme: https://1drv.ms/f/s!At3esDCvFltcgaCPFmdOX8N9DFcFWFE

EDIT: Same results on 3.25.0.1

I also use the Dark theme, but it's looking good on my machine https://imgur.com/DkVDwaT
Maybe that's because transparent windows (Fluent design etc) is not supported in our Citrix environment.

Hi,

I've created a new release. This release might have a positive impact on the color scheme and empty windows. Would you mind testing it? If it still doesn't work I at least will have ruled out a couple of issues. If it still shows empty windows, would you mind submitting a bug report via the Extensions->NCrunch menu?

This release requires you to uninstall NCrunch for VS2019 and reinstall with the current installer.

NCrunch_VS2019_3.25.0.2.msi
NCrunch_VS2019_3.25.0.2.msi.7z
NCrunch_VS2019_3.25.0.2.zip

Release notes for 3.25.0.2 since version v3.24.0.5

Improved how NCrunch is loaded under Visual Studio 2019

Fixed an issue with upgrading the extension for Visual Studio 2019. Please uninstall the previous version of NCrunch for Visual Studio 2019 first, there might be more than one.

Added support for the new Visual Studio 2019 Blue theme

Fixed a problem with building projects under Visual Studio 2019 when the build task referenced certain assemblies

@michaelkroes, looks good now with 3.25.0.2 on the default blue theme. Thanks for the quick fix.

I'm still seeing this problem but still only on one device. I've uninstalled NCrunch, VS2019 preview and VS2017, and have re-installed VS2019 RC and then NCrunch but it's still happening. I'm not sure what else I can do to contribute any information but I'm planning on reformatting this device in 2-3 weeks anyway (when new Windows and new VS RTM)

Thanks for taking the time to test!

Would you mind submitting a bug report from the NCrunch menu? Maybe that will give us some insight
